About the Company

Kepard is a fairly small and new Moldovan VPN provider. The VPN service fulfils the basic requirements of VPN users in affordable prices. Kepard has made its place in the market with its stylish custom software for Windows and Android. The VPN service can be used for security, anonymity and unblocking of content. We are about to analyze Kepard VPN in detail.

Here are the features KepardVPN offers to its global users:

Global Existence

KepardVPN provides servers in 8 countries, which are USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Netherlands. These numbers are apparently not enough to provide a seamless VPN service but we should give Kepard some time to work on increasing the network strength by deploying new servers in different global locations.

Pricing Plan

Kepard offers just one package as of now. The pricing plan is called Premium and comes at a price of $7/month ($35 for a whole year if you choose to go for the yearly account). You get access to servers in the US, UK Canada, Netherlands and Germany with OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP protocols. There are no bandwidth caps so you can upload, download and browse as much as you want, which is a very good thing.

Free plan: Kepard offers a free plan that allows half an hour of usage every day. Users can earn Kepard’s premium service for up to 180 days by inviting friends to sign up for the VPN service. For each successful referral conversion users get 30 days of premium Kepard VPN service. So if you are looking for a full-featured VPN service for free, you can get it by inviting as many friends as you can. Please note that this offer is not mentioned on the website of Kepard VPN. You’ll get the option to invite friends once you have downloaded and installed Kepard VPN client on your computer or Android device.

Payment Methods

Kepard VPN customers can make their payments through Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and American Express. Clearly, these options are inadequate because users around the world have many other cards and accounts through which they desire to pay. We hope that Kepard will add more payment modes soon enough so that no new user has to give up on buying Kepard.

Protocol Support & Encryption

The VPN provider offers L2TP, PPTP and OpenVPN protocol and gives encryption of up to 256 bits. The encryption is strong and would stop just about any intruder from getting access to your computer or from decrypting your personal data that is being sent or received.

When it comes to the compatibility, Kepard VPN is supported on Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS and Linux. While the clients are available for windows and Android OS, for rest of the devices including routers and gaming consoles manual configuration guides are available.

The Windows VPN client

The windows client from Kepard VPN is pretty stylish and trendy and there is no doubt about that. There is a big power button in the middle to turn the connection on or off. Switching countries is also very easy and just a matter of clicking on the flag and making the selection. Pretty neat, right!

Choosing your preferred protocol is also extremely easy and so are other basic parameters.

Kepard has given the users power to make selection between TCP and UDP for OpenVPN protocol. This is a very nice touch because there is a very technical difference between the two protocols. Just to let you know, TCP is a bit slower than UDP but more reliable.

The Android app is user-friendly, fast and stable. Once you sign in, you are ready to connect the VPN and go online anonymously, securely and without any restrictions.

The app looks similar to the Windows version but supports OpenVPN protocol and connects the users automatically using the settings from their last connection session.

Other Platforms

As mentioned above, there are detailed instructional guides available on the Kepard website so while the clients are only available for Windows and Android, the VPN can be setup on other devices as well using manual configurations. There are also setup guides available to configure Kepard VPN on Android using manual settings.

P2P support

We are glad that Kepard VPN allows its users to use P2P clients. If you are interested in sharing files over P2P platform then all you have to do is to connect to the NL servers of Kepard and you are good to go!

Multi Logins

Kepard VPN allows 2 simultaneous multi-logins. While 2 logins aren’t as good as 5 (which many other providers offer), it still helps users fulfill their requirements. You can setup Kepard VPN on your computer/laptop and a Smartphone or a tablet PC according to your desire. These two simultaneous connections will help you stay online all the time, securely and anonymously.

Money Back Guarantee: There is no money back guarantee offered by Kepard VPN. Money back guarantee always wins new customer’s trust even when there is no probability of the customer asking for refund. This is where Kepard VPN falls short as it doesn’t offer money back guarantee not even of a day.

Logs policy: Keeping in mind all the frauds and cyber crimes taking place on the World Wide Web, a VPN provider must not keep user logs. However, Kepard VPN does keep user logs for 3 days. Record keeping for 3 days is not bothersome to most users but if you are not willing that your VPN provider maintains your log for even a few days then you might look for another service but Kepard VPN.

Customer Support

The customer support is only provided via Ticket E-Mail System. However, when we contacted Kepard through the ticket system, we were surprised to get a response within a few minutes! Quite efficient we must say. Nonetheless Live Chat and a few more Support modes are still missing and Kepard should make efforts to add them to the offered support modes.

Innovative Features or Special Add-ons

And now here are the innovative or special Add-ons that VPN providers offer or don’t. Unfortunately, Kepard VPN is not very feature-rich but here are the details anyways:

Dedicated IPs – No

Internet Kill Switch – No

Streaming BoosterNo

Online Gaming Support No

NAT Firewall – Yes

Kepard VPN offers NAT Firewall so that users can become completely secure on the internet while allowing particular external connections to penetrate into the systems through different ports.

Web Protection No

Anti Malware Protection No

Encrypted Email No

Stealth Browser No

DDoS Attack ProtectionNo

After the thorough review, we have come to the conclusion that Kepard VPN brings a number of good things to the users. Here are the pros that we have jotted down:

  • Free Trial (Half an hour each day or full-featured free plan through referrals)
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Option to choose between TCP and UDP for OpenVPN protocol
  • P2P is allowed on the Netherlands server
  • Overall service is pretty fast in terms of connection establishment and browsing/streaming/downloading speed
  • Custom Apps for Windows and Android

There aren’t too many cons about Kepard VPN but here are the ones you must be aware of:

  • Kepard VPN keeps certain user logs
  • 128-bit OpenVPN encryption is good enough but could be better if it was 256-bits
  • At the time of sign up more details are asked than necessary

Though Kepard seems to be a promising up and comer but other than their Android App we didn’t like anything else very much. The overall look and feel of the VPN is surely stylish and efficient and the clients are also user friendly as they bring in a number of useful features. The 15 days free trial is a very good reason to give this VPN service a try.
